The Standard “L” shield is the favorite as a drawing station and as a storage shield for unit doses with easy access. Side shields or lead brick may be used to form walls when the Standard shield is used to store higher activity or for additional shielding.
This shield is designed for facilities that prepare and dispense high activity 131I therapy doses. The shield offers excellent protection from beta and gamma radiation and has a fully shielded floor. The lead glass is 3.5 inches thick to shield out the high energy gamma photons from this radionuclide.
The 511 Syringe Shield is made of Tungsten with a 0.5″ lead equivalency. It has a viewing area of 0.75″ thick lead glass surrounded by a rubber grommet to prevent damage to the glass. Fluorescent gold gloss covers the interior of the syringe shield for exceptional visibility of the syringe contents.
